On September 2nd, Nordmeccanica inaugurated its New York Innovation Hub, further strengthening its international network of places dedicated to innovation, experimentation, and technical collaboration within the flexible packaging sector.
The inauguration was marked by a day dedicated to share expertise, live demonstrations, and in-depth exploration of technologies aimed at developing more sustainable packaging solutions. The initiative was carried out in partnership with Henkel and Windmöller & Hölscher, two strategic partners with whom Nordmeccanica shares a commitment to developing and rolling out new solutions for the industry.
Key topics included lamination applications for paper/MetPET and mono-PE structures, solventless lamination technologies, and solutions for creating recyclable packaging structures. These various applications were showcased through demonstrations in a real production setting, giving participants the chance to observe the technologies and processes firsthand and discuss their potential industrial applications.
The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration across the entire supply chain. Indeed, the quest for more sustainable flexible packaging solutions requires constant dialogue among industry players and close integration between materials, adhesives, machinery, and production processes.
The New York Innovation Hub serves as a key reference point for the North American market, providing a dedicated space for testing, technology demonstrations, and application development. It acts as a venue where technological innovation meets concrete market needs, while fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among supply chain stakeholders.
With this launch, the New York Innovation Hub joins Nordmeccanica’s existing hubs in Italy and China, reinforcing an international network designed to bring technologies, expertise, and markets closer. The goal is to create concrete opportunities for dialogue and experimentation, guiding the evolution of flexible packaging toward increasingly efficient and sustainable solutions while continuing to foster dialogue with all stakeholders in the supply chain.
