Peroni Ruggero Srl, headquartered in Varese, designs and manufactures industrial machinery for the packaging and cardboard-processing industries. SWP-1000: the first automatic machine for covering flaps of collapsible boxes
What is the idea behind the SWP-1000? The machine was developed in response to requests from Italian and international customers seeking to automate the production of flaps for collapsible boxes. Manual operations are costly, repetitive, slow, and subject to variability in results, something unacceptable in high-quality production.
Extensive work was carried out on both the mechanical and automation aspects of the process, identifying a way to manage all production stages sequentially with exceptional precision thanks to a vision system and a SCARA robot. The result is an innovative machine capable of producing 800 flaps per hour with a single operator, making it ideal for both large production batches and short runs thanks to its extremely fast format changeover. This significantly reduces production times and costs while ensuring consistent product quality.
