Fosber

Fosber operates from the headquarters in Monsagrati (Lucca) and through strategic branches in the United States, while Fosber Asia was born as a start-up, a joint venture established by Fosber Group and Guangdong Dongfang Precision Science & Technology. With installations all over the world, the company guarantees top-level quality and services and will inaugurate a new factory in Pescaglia in 2026.

Fosber has always chosen the path of continuous innovation, investing heavily in Research & Development, necessary for the success of the group. In continually changing and increasingly demanding markets, it is crucial to offer cutting-edge technology, high performance, flexibility in the production process, cost reduction, less complexity and reliability. In 2022, the group’s turnover exceeded 350 million euros.

Marco Bertola Fosber Marco Bertola: from grassroots to leadership

Since 2022, the company has been led by Marco Bertola, a forty-five years old Tuscan who started in 1998 as a mechanical assembler after graduating at high school as an industrial expert. Marco immediately demonstrated a great spirit of initiative, dealing with the assembly manuals for the machinery, which were then adopted globally. Subsequently, he worked in the Research & Development department, consolidating his skills and contributing to the development of innovative solutions. Having become production manager, Marco took on roles of increasing responsibility, managing crucial projects in Italy and moving to China to create and lead Fosber Asia, the joint venture established by Fosber Group and Guangdong Dongfang Precision Science & Technology.

The success achieved led him to a new professional challenge in 2022: the role of CEO of the Group.

“The experience in China was crucial for me, even if during the first year I commuted, leading a local and Italian team for the structuring of the start-up. This assignment highlighted my training gaps, especially in the financial and administrative fields. I enrolled in Management Engineering and attended various seminars and specialization courses because I believe that continuous improvement should shape everyone’s life, even beyond the professional sphere. I realized that the Chinese are very welcoming, especially towards Italians, whose creative skills and qualitative processes are very admired by them. It was enough to be humble and open to discussion to establish excellent and constructive relationships with people”, says Marco.

Record numbers for Fosber

Under the leadership of Marco Bertola, the company is achieving great success, standing out for innovation, operational excellence and sustainability. “Our strengths are people, because every manager should always encourage and stimulate the team to give their best, incentivizing attention to the customer and innovation. We invest heavily in Research & Development and cutting-edge technologies to improve performance and reliability, reduce costs and complexity”, explains Marco.

More than 90% of requests for intervention are resolved remotely thanks to viewers, mixed reality, AI, machine learning and predictive diagnostics, contributing to greater sustainability. Fosber produces simpler and more efficient, oil-free machines, reducing the environmental impact.

New headquarters in Pescaglia: innovation and sustainability

In Pescaglia, a new factory will be built that will promote collaboration and employee well-being. It will be a particular architectural work, aimed at promoting a sense of belonging and pride. The new headquarters will have a walkway that will connect the different areas of the plant, allowing easy internal communication.

“The new factory will be built with particular attention to organic architecture and eco-sustainability, surrounded by greenery between the sea and the Tuscan hills. Thanks to photovoltaic panels, we will be self-sufficient, using only 30% of the self-produced energy, while the rest will be channeled into an energy community”, explains Marco.

The investment of around 45 million euros involves the renovation of three warehouses already purchased, on an area of almost 60 thousand sm, of which 37 thousand are covered. The design, research and development, assembly, marketing and logistics departments will be operational in the new headquarters. Fosber’s exponential growth over the last five years, with a doubling of sales, has led the company to reach 350 million euros in consolidated revenues.

Fosber’s success is due to the growing demand for packaging produced with recycled paper, automation-related technologies that improve the performance of machinery and the increase in the use of e-commerce by consumers around the world.
