AFZ Solutions, a new generation of expertise for printing and converting

3

Drawing on more than forty years of family experience, a new venture has been launched with the goal of combining technical supply, preventive maintenance, and process consulting to help companies achieve greater production efficiency. In the world of printing, converting, and die-cutting, where quality, precision, and production continuity are critical factors for business competitiveness, a new Italian company is emerging, looking to the future while building on solid professional foundations. This is AFZ Solutions, founded by Stefano Fadda with the aim of introducing an innovative approach to technical support for the packaging and labelling industry.

AFZ Solutions

The company’s creation is not simply the result of identifying a new market opportunity, but rather the expression of a clear vision of the role that a technology partner can play within production processes. This vision has been shaped through direct experience and strengthened by a family tradition that has operated in the printing and converting sector for more than four decades.

Converting: a family tradition

Stefano Fadda, currently pursuing an engineering degree at Politecnico di Milano, developed a deep understanding of the industry’s production dynamics from an early age. Growing up in an environment where technical challenges, problem-solving, and daily interaction with customer needs were part of everyday life helped him develop a strong sensitivity toward the operational aspects of manufacturing.

From this experience, AFZ Solutions was born with the objective of going beyond the traditional supplier-customer relationship. “With AFZ Solutions, I wanted to bring something different to this industry”, explains Fadda. “An approach that goes beyond simply supplying products or services, helping companies maintain control over their entire production process”.

Beyond supply: a process-oriented vision

In the printing and converting industry, attention is often focused on machine performance, tooling, and achieving increasingly demanding quality standards. While these elements are fundamental, AFZ Solutions believes they should be integrated into a broader vision in which continuous process monitoring and the prevention of critical issues play a strategic role.

This philosophy is reflected in one of the company’s core business areas: preventive maintenance. The goal is to reduce the risk of unexpected downtime, maintain consistent production quality, and ensure maximum equipment reliability over time.

Preventive maintenance as a driver of efficiency

Through planned maintenance programs and continuous monitoring activities, AFZ Solutions supports its customers in controlling the condition of machinery and tooling, helping improve operational continuity and reduce the need for emergency interventions, which are often costly both financially and organizationally.

Alongside maintenance services, the company has developed a technical process consulting offering. This activity begins with an analysis of operational methodologies and leads to the identification of potential improvement areas, the optimization of production workflows, and staff training.

The approach adopted by AFZ Solutions is based on a simple yet fundamental question: Is the production process truly operating under the most efficient conditions possible? This question forms the basis for technical assessments, operational procedure reviews, and continuous improvement programs tailored to the specific needs of each company.

In a market increasingly focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and performance optimization, AFZ Solutions aims to establish its position through a collaborative model based on prevention and ongoing support. This approach shifts attention away from emergency management toward proactive process control, with the objective of transforming maintenance and technical consulting into tangible tools for creating value throughout the entire production chain.

Face to face with Stefano Fadda, Founder of AFZ Solutions

What market needs led you to establish AFZ Solutions?

“I noticed that companies often adopt a reactive approach, intervening only when a problem arises. AFZ Solutions was created to bridge this gap by supporting businesses on an ongoing basis. We focus on prevention and process control, not just product supply or technical intervention. This is what differentiates us from traditional models”.

How much does preventive maintenance impact productivity and competitiveness?

“It has a direct impact: fewer unexpected stoppages mean greater production continuity and better adherence to delivery schedules. It also improves quality and reduces waste. The result is a more stable, efficient, and competitive process over the long term”.

What tangible results have you observed among your clients?

“We have seen reductions in machine downtime and greater quality consistency. Hidden inefficiencies often emerge, allowing companies to improve productivity without requiring new investments. We have also observed increased operational awareness among personnel”.
