The Paper Chain Southeast Asia Expo + WEPACK Southeast Asia 2025 will officially take place from July 29 to 31, 2025, at the JIEXPO Exhibition Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. This major international event is the result of a strategic collaboration between two key organizers in the sector: China National Chemical Information Center and RX. Together, they aim to build a comprehensive platform that unites all sectors of the paper and packaging industry under one roof.

Over 300 companies from across the value chain — including papermaking, converting, eco-friendly materials, packaging equipment, and end-use applications — are expected to participate. The event is designed to enhance synergies between upstream and downstream sectors, with a focus on boosting innovation, sustainability, and cross-border cooperation throughout Southeast Asia.

Southeast Asia is experiencing rapid growth in various packaging-related fields, especially in response to the increasing demand from e-commerce, takeaway food services, and industrial logistics. Technologies such as short-run production systems, corrugated processing and folding carton solutions are in high demand. According to market forecasts, the corrugated packaging sector in the region is set to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4% between 2021 and 2026.

Among the countries driving this growth, Indonesia plays a particularly strategic role. As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, it offers a thriving and dynamic environment, with a 5% annual GDP growth and access to a regional market of over 600 million ASEAN consumers. The Indonesian government is actively supporting sectors like green packaging, battery production, electric vehicles, and smart logistics, making the country a magnet for international investment.

The exhibition is backed by a solid network of industry associations, including AKKGI (Asosiasi Kotak Karton Gelombang Indonesia), ACCI (Association Corrugated Converting Indonesia), IPF (Indonesian Packaging Federation), and APKI (Indonesian Pulp & Paper Association). Additionally, RX can count on over a decade of experience organizing industry events in the region, such as the Indonesian Corrugated Folding Carton Manufacturing Summit.

Further support comes from international cooperation strategies, such as the China-ASEAN partnership and Guangdong Province’s “Guangdong Trade Global” initiative, which offer government subsidies and logistical support for participating enterprises, especially those looking to enter new overseas markets.

The co-located exhibition format will provide a full view of the paper and packaging industrial chain:

  • Upstream: papermaking, pulp, and sustainable materials
  • Midstream: packaging machinery, printing technology, and intelligent packaging solutions
  • Downstream: final applications across key sectors such as food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce

This integrated approach not only enhances the efficiency of supply chains, but also helps participants accelerate market entry, build stronger networks, and discover new business opportunities in one of the most promising regions globally.
