May 16, 1980 – May 16, 2025, 45 years of history that Diaven chose to celebrate with a wonderful event that brought together business vision, tradition and values, people and territory. A moment of discussion organized within the company during which the management shared its vision. The event ended with a party on a boat, sailing among the islands and canals of a wonderful and fascinating Venice by night
On May 16, at its historic headquarters in Mogliano Veneto, Treviso, the flexo pre-press service Diaven opened the doors of its production plant, hosting customers, partners, friends, and collaborators. The latter were very involved in accompanying guests through the various stages of the flexo pre-press production process, Diaven’s core business. The company also has a department dedicated to the production of dies for corrugated cardboard. The involvement of employees is one of the missions on which the owners have built their success, and seeing everyone so involved in proudly explaining the various company departments and the different stages of the production process was certainly the best business card they could show their guests.
Ira and Filippo Nicoletti, visibly moved but happy, in the presence of their parents, who founded the company and then left it to their two children to grow and manage, wanted to share with guests their journey of business growth based on change, on the desire to innovate, to question themselves, and to involve their employees in an extremely dynamic training program that ultimately also involved their customers, with whom they have achieved significant success through collaboration and partnership.
The origin of the name Diaven
The Nicoletti brothers retraced the most important stages of a journey that began in May 1980. The name Diaven derives from the combination of the end of the word LombarDIA and the beginning of the word VENeto, indicating the geographical area of initial interest, because this company has always approached the market with great determination, sacrifice, and passion, taking small steps, one after the other, in this way the company became known throughout the Italian flexo industry. Today, the market is therefore broader for Diaven, but it has not forgotten its origins, which represent the solid foundation on which its successful journey has been built.
A company built over time with passion and vision, continuous improvement is its DNA. “Being a company of values that generates value” is the mantra that guides every choice and is expressed in an organizational system based on four pillars: People, Structure, Management, and Relationships.
Innovating the organization: people at the core
In the first thematic focus, HR Director Ira Nicoletti, together with consultant Marzio Zanato, illustrated the path taken by Diaven to enable the corporate culture to evolve and enhance human capital. Since 2015, the company has embarked on a deep digitalization of its processes, incorporating the Quality System directly into the production flow and adopting a management approach oriented towards merit and collaboration, based on dialogue and cooperation.
Among the most significant actions:
• Insights Discovery® analysis is a personal development tool that provides people with an engaging, effective, and innovative method to learn about themselves and others, understand their personal style and its impact on professional and personal relationships, and improve awareness of roles and relationships.
• Redefinition of the organizational chart, job descriptions, skill matrix, and individual development plans.
• Continuing education programs, with an investment of 2.8% of 2024 revenue dedicated to technological innovation
• Promotion of innovative leadership based on listening, coaching, and team development
The goal is clear: building an environment in which people are inspired by the why and guided by the how, in order to achieve the goal together.
Lean and agile processes: the dual soul of operational excellence
The second part of the conference explored the topic of process optimization, with presentations by Mirko Dal Corso, Production Manager at Diaven, and Stefano Zuccolo, Lean consultant. The presentation highlighted the integration between Lean Thinking and Agile Enterprise, two methodologies that are now firmly rooted in the company’s operations.
“We have improved customer order management by strengthening collaboration between the sales and product development departments. Our agile teams work closely together, sharing objectives and operating methods at every stage of development to better respond to customer needs”, comments Mirko Dal Corso.
Using tools such as Spaghetti Chart and Value Stream Mapping, Diaven has redesigned its production layout, reducing internal movements by 20% and introducing smart charts for priority management. New automated lines, visual dashboards, and OEE indicators are just some of the solutions that are improving efficiency, quality, and customer responsiveness. Particular attention has been paid to the PDCA continuous improvement system, integrated into the company’s management system, which allows anyone to propose improvement activities and monitor their progress in real time.
The journey continues
“We have come this far thanks to you… and we don’t intend to stop!”, declared Ira and Filippo Nicoletti in closing. And this is precisely the feeling that the event left to participants: the awareness of being part of a company that is not only productive but also generative, capable of investing in people, embracing change, and creating sustainable value over time.
A successful event that celebrated 45 years of business with an eye to the future.
La festa sui canali di Venezia
The party on the canals of Venice
After the interesting open house at the company, the day continued in Venice, where guests enjoyed a dinner on board of a restaurant ship with a tour of the lagoon accompanied by music. The “Venice Boat Experience” was not just a party, but a symbolic experience: “sailing is like innovating: having the courage to leave dry land without seeing the horizon, but knowing where you want to land”.
A metaphor that perfectly reflects the spirit of Diaven: a company that has chosen the path of innovation, guided by a culture of conscious change, fueled by authentic relationships, and built together with those who believe in a shared project every day.
