Malaysian-born artist Alice Chang Guerra<\/strong>, founder of Lai Lai Art<\/strong> <\/a>Studio and Chair of IM GROUP Foundation<\/strong><\/a>, has organised an exhibition by artists with autism from Malaysia<\/strong>, at one of Kuala Lumpur\u2019s top contemporary destinations as a precursor to a major exhibition to be held in Turin, Italy, later this month.<\/p>\n

The event, titled \u201cAnak Syurga of Lai Lai Art meets The Little Prince\u201d<\/strong>, <\/em>featured works from the ten winners of the \u2018Anak Syurga\u2019<\/em><\/strong> international autistic arts competition<\/strong> 2021<\/em> of whom will go on to exhibit their works in Italy in two weeks\u2019 time. The exhibition in Kuala Lumpur was held in collaboration with\u2014online arts and crafts store\u2014You Ni Market, and staged at the capital\u2019s stylish, Avenue K, adjacent to the landmark Petronas Twin Towers.<\/p>\n

\"con\u201cI would like to thank all involved for making this event happen, this exhibition is part of our initiative to bring awareness to artists with autism, as well as to give them the opportunity to exhibit their work both locally and globally, and to help them gain the confidence and courage to display their work to an audience,\u201d <\/em>explained Ms. Chang Guerra<\/strong>, \u201cYou Ni Market\u2019s theme, \u201cThe Little Prince\u201d<\/strong> gave these artists an opportunity to focus their art on the famous character from Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry\u2019s novella, as they too prepare to visit new lands<\/strong>; in their case, Italy\u2014to showcase their works at the \u201cIM MORE | The Tigers of Malaysia\u201d exhibition organised by IM GROUP<\/a> and Lai Lai Art<\/a> at Istituto dei Sordi Torino<\/a> on 31st<\/sup> March.”<\/em><\/p>\n


\n<\/em>The exhibition \u201cThe Tigers of Malaysia\u201d in Italy, part of IM GROUP\u2019s \u201cIM MORE\u201d CSR (corporate social responsibility) project, aims to highlight that people with autism can not only contribute to society but have something \u201cmore\u201d to add as they have an uncommon ability of seeing things differently.<\/strong><\/p>\n
