The laser cutter and creaser combines perfectly with digital printing, and allows the industry to operate in extremely short lead times.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32245\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32245\" style=\"width: 223px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-32245\" src=\"https:\/\/www.converter.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/TS-awards-best-innovation-silver-FEMAT-223x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32245\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Femat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <strong>Silver Award<\/strong> went to <strong>FEMAT<\/strong> for the development of software that predicts the strength of the boxes, thus reduces both testing time as well as manpower, energy and materials needed.<br \/>\nFEFCO Secretary General Angelika Christ said the awards showed how fast the corrugated industry was moving to stay ahead of the latest developments in technology, business and society. \u201cThis is an industry that is adapting and evolving. As these awards show, we are developing new ideas to make corrugated more efficient, more creative and more sustainable than ever before,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32243\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-32243 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.converter.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/TS-award-best-innovation-bronze-Engico-300x268.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"268\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Engico<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <strong>Bronze Award<\/strong> went to <strong>Engico<\/strong> for the presentation on \u201cthe Dual size changes paradigm in corrugated\u201d which combines two machines in one and offers fast change and production flexibility.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Health and Safety Award<\/strong> was given to <strong>Du\u0308cker<\/strong>, for Sensorless Muting Solution for Safety Fencing. This rewards the improvements made in machine safety which is a crucial element in accident prevention as many incidents can be prevented by designing, installing, operating and maintaining safer machines.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Sustainability Award<\/strong> went to <strong>Lemtapes<\/strong> for the replacement of plastic tapes with cellulose-based tapes.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Best Presentation Award<\/strong>, out of some 60 six-minute spotlights delivered during the Geneva seminar, was won by <strong>Robert Karimov<\/strong>, from Karimov, who was praised \u201cfor explaining complicated things in a simple, entertaining way\u201d.<br \/>\nAnd the <strong>most Inspiring New FEFCO Member Award<\/strong> went to <strong>AVCO<\/strong>, who developed a camera inspection system with many applications.<br \/>\nFEFCO\u2019s also announced a Lifetime Achievement Award for Norbert St\u00e4dele, the recently retired former managing director of BHS Corrugated. He was honoured for his work \u201cin realising concepts and development on the corrugator.
