The GMP 2.0 is for companies which manufacture folding cartons that are intended to come into contact with food.<br \/>\nThe GMP 2.0 under-pins the core focus that the European folding carton sector has on consumer health &amp; safety. The new ECMA GMP 2.0 compliments existing Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) such as the BRCGS and FSSC 22000 and includes folding carton specifics which are not covered by the GFSI certifications.<br \/>\n<strong>Commenting on the new GMP 2.0, Mike Turner \u2013 Managing Director of ECMA said:<\/strong> \u201cSafe packaging is essential to meet the requirements and expectations set by brand-owners, retailers, legislators and consumers \u2013 the new GMP 2.0 is an information and management tool that can be adopted by converters and audited through proper implementation.
