DUPONT PACKAGING GRAPHICS ANNOUNCE 2009 NEW HORIZON AWARDS
DuPont Packaging Graphics EMEA is pleased to present its 2009 New Horizon award jointly to Wipak UK Ltd. and PPP Digital Imaging Ltd.
The award is made in recognition of Wipak’s pioneering approach to develop and extend the reach of high quality flexo printing in the UK through the deployment of DuPont™ Cyrel® round.
At a time when the market was seeing lower levels of entrepreneurial activity, PPP chose to install a Cyrel® round processing system early in 2009 at its Manchester production facility to support Wipak. The initial aim was in part to consolidate their partnership and enable Wipak to continue its strategy of converting more flexible-packaging production to flexography from gravure, by improving colour consistency, registration and efficiency.
Both companies' innovative activities are having a strong influence throughout the UK market at convertor and brand-owner levels and are important partners in the growth of Cyrel® round."
Initiated in 2007 at the International Grand Prix Cyrel® held in Valencia, Spain, the New Horizons Awards acknowledge key individuals, organizations and programs for their valuable contributions to the flexographic and package printing industries.
The honorees are selected "for superior achievement", and the awards recognize the work, creativity, and contributions of individuals and organizations for their efforts in “Advancing Flexography.”
The award itself is a heavy brass trophy, designed specifically for DuPont Packaging Graphics, replicating the New Horizons logo with the Cyrel® medal on its top left corner. Engraved with the honoree’s name or organization, the trophy is a handsome recognition of significant achievement.
